Located in western California’s Silicon Valley, the Church of Scientology of Mountain View has kept pace with this important region of electronic and computer manufacturing industries.
The Church has grown steadily by increasing its numbers of staff, ministers and volunteers; serving its parishioners and public for over three decades.
Beginning with public lectures given by the Church's founder, L. Ron Hubbard, in September 1950 at the Oakland Municipal Auditorium, and the later opening of many Dianetics and Scientology groups, missions and churches, the Scientology religion has become well established in cities throughout the Bay Area.
The Church of Scientology of Mountain View has expanded into the 21st century with the opening of a new building, plus an additional downtown public information center and bookstore, all to better achieve the aims of Scientology and forward a worldwide religious movement to make a better world. In 2003, the Church’s newly renovated building was nominated for the Mayor’s Award.
“The Church of Scientology has made a valuable and significant contribution to our community. We are impressed with the many ways that the remodeling project created a new environment for the area.”
R. Michael Kaswperzak,
Mayor of the City of Mountain View
